The master’s program is divided into two terms. The first term focuses on providing essential analytical and macroeconomic tools, as well as on the internal market of the EU and related key regulatory issues. In the second term, courses concentrate on corporate governance, consumer protection, energy, and the environment.
Course organization
In the 2024/2025 edition of the Master, classes are held in presence on weekdays (Monday-Friday).
The 2024/2025 edition of MEEG is organized in two terms as follows:
- October 2024 – December 2024: First term courses
- January -February 2025: First term exams
- March 2025 – May 2025: Second term courses
- June – July 2025: Second term exams
- June 2025 – December 2025: Elective internship (to be scheduled with the organization) and thesis (research paper)

- European Macroeconomic Policies – Fiscal and Monetary Policies
Second Term
During the second semester students will attend 6 of the following advanced 20 hour courses:
- Digital Europe, Data Protection and Cybersecurity
- European Environment and Climate Policies
- Employment and Social Affairs in the EU: Legal and Policy Dimensions
- Energy Policy
- Cohesion Policy
- European Economic Policies and Governance
- EU Competition Law and Policies
Students will be asked to attend, as part of their mandatory academic training, research seminars organized by the Institute for European Analysis and Policy and Luiss School of Government, as well as course on advanced research methodology. Students will also attend seminars organised in the context of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence EU Inclusive Open Strategic Autonomy Centre (IOSAC).
Finally, students will need to complete a final Master thesis.
